We Filipinos are known to be heavy packers when traveling… we always try to fill our luggage to the brim as we pack all our personal things and other pasalubong items for the folks back home.
But please remember that there are limits to what you are allowed to carry inside the aircarft.
Various airlines have come up with policies limiting passengers in carrying unnecessary baggage inside the plane. Those who will not comply will be faced with expensive fees or forced to let go of some of their stuff just to comply with weight restrictions!!!
For most airlines, each passenger are allowed 1 hand carry baggage with them. The bag must not exceed 7 kilos in weight.
But wait there’s more….. your bag must have the right dimensions so that it will fit inside the overhead bin of the plane.
For Cebu Pacific Air, the maximum allowed dimension for a check in baggage is 56cm x 36cm x 23cm.
Many wheeled cabin luggage and travel back packs can fit into these dimensions.
There are also some instances that some passengers are allowed to bring more than 1 piece of hand carry luggage with them. These are some of the examples:
- Extra bag for parents if travelling with children.
- Medical-related needs of passengers such as but not limited to walking stick, crutches, prosthetic devices and personal wheelchair.
- Items purchased inside the airport. You must show your receipt at the gate boarding gate agent.
- Gadget or food item that cannot be accepted for check-in.
- Small bags that can fit under the seat.
But it is best to check with the ground crew first if you are allowed to brings those mentioned above for there are instances that space inside the aircraft can be very limited. It is best to call them up ahead of your flights if you plan on bringing medical equipment such wheel chairs so that they can accommodate you on your flight.
