Useful tips from Piso Fare PH on Cebu Pacific guidelines for passengers with special needs, pregnant passengers, unaccompanied minors, and infants.
Special passengers needs different handling than regular passengers, so if you belong to this group and you are about to fly with Cebu Pacific, please refer to this guide to have a hassle free check-in and boarding on your flight day.
Passengers with Medical Case and bringing Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC)
Passengers with medical cases are allowed to fly with Cebu Pacific provided that the following documents are properly filled out and accomplished by the passenger/guardian:
- Duly accomplished Cebu Pacific Passenger Handling Form
- A current Medical Certificate signed by the passengers’ medical doctor stating the passenger is “fit to travel”.
Cebu Pacific will allow the carriage of a Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) and other battery-operated non-oxygen generating respiratory assistive devices such as nebulizers and ventilators for use inside the cabin. However, this airline company will not allow carriage of partially or completely filled oxygen tanks (cylinders/bottles) or liquid oxygen on board any of their aircraft.
Important: Medical certificate for passengers requiring POC should also indicate that the guest may be required to use respiratory assistive device on the duration of the flight.
Passengers travelling with a respiratory assistive device must check-in at least two (2) hours prior the scheduled departure time and must present the POC and other respiratory assistive device and documents for inspection by a CEB check-in agent.
Passengers Needing Special Assistance
Acceptance of passengers and guests requiring special assistance is subject to arrangement with Cebu Pacific at least 48-hours prior the scheduled flight.
It would be best to coordinate with the airline at least 3 days prior to the scheduled flight if you or your companion needs special assistance, although 48 hours would suffice in most cases. Please note that Cebu Pacific may charge minimal handling fee for the use of lifts.
Reach out to Cebu Pacific’s Call Center hotline to make this arrangement at (+632) 702 0888 (Manila) or (+6332) 230 8888 (Cebu) for more information.
Expectant Mothers / Pregnant Women
Expectant mothers with age of gestation thirty-four (34) weeks (8 months and a half on the pregnancy journey) and beyond are required to present a medical certificate with the notation “Fit to Travel” and signed by a medical doctor or passenger’s OB-Gyne.
The passenger should travel 10 days from date of issuance of the Medical Certificate (MC). MC dated more than 10 days on flight date is not acceptable.
The pregnant guest also needs to fill out 3 copies of the Cebu Pacific Passenger Handling Form, and to present the duly-accomplished for upon check-in.
Unaccompanied Minors
Children younger than 7 years old will not be accepted for carriage unless they are accompanied by a person of legal age. The minor’s companion must at least be 18 years old.
Passengers who are 7 years old to 15 years old will be accepted only after the Cebu Pacific Passenger Handling Form is accomplished plus the prescribed Unaccompanied Minor Handling (UMH) Fee is paid. The form is to be handed to the CSR on duty at the check-in counter.
The Unaccompanied Minor Handling Fee differs per route, it’s higher on international flights versus domestic flights. Our Piso Fare team checked that a Cebu to Manila flight has a UMH fee of P750. While an international flight Manila to Hong Kong the Unaccompanied Minor handling rate is P1,500.
For Filipino minors traveling to a foreign country, please check the DSWD rules governing minor travel. For minors with foreign nationalities, please check the rules governing minor travel as issued by your respective governments.
Infants
Newly born babies less than 8 days old will not be accepted for carriage. Infants 8 days old to below 2 years of age not occupying a seat shall be charged with a minimal handling fee.
