Can you refund a Cebu Pacific promo ticket? We have an answer for you!
Do you have a Cebu Pacific ticket bought during a promo fare like Piso Fare for 2019 or 2020 flights? Then you can’t fly on your scheduled day? Or kailangan talagang ipostpone, so you are thinking how much will be the rebooking fee or if you can refund?
Find out the answer on this post by our Piso Fare Philippines team. Or you can also go to the website of this airline at www.cebupacificair.com and search for more info there.
Promo Tickets are Rebookable but not Refundable and Reroutable
Tickets bought during a promo or “seat sales” are non-refundable, but you can rebook.
Promo fares tickets are re-bookable subject to the following fees:
If the ticket you are currently holding is for domestic flights: Php 1,200
If it’s for International Short-haul flights: Php 2,000
If it’s for International Long-haul flights: Php 2,500
PLUS you have to pay the fare difference.
**Promo fares are non-reroutable. So if you originally booked for Cebu, you can’t request your ticket bought during a promo to be rerouted to a new destination, say Coron.
*Promo fares are also not eligible to be stored in a Travel Fund.
EXAMPLE SITUATION:
Let’s assume that you have a ticket you bought during a piso fare 2019 promo to Boracay (Caticlan) from Manila, this is for March 15, 2019. Let’s say total cost of promo ticket is P550, all-in-fares.
Then come January 8, 2019, you are absolutely sure that you can’t fly to Boracay on March 15,2019 for some personal reason.
Can you ask Cebu Pacific for refund? The answer is No, since you bought this ticket during a piso fare promo.
Can you request to rebook your ticket? Yes! But wait, how much are you going to pay?
Let’s assume again that instead of March 15,2019, you want to rebook to April 1,2019. The regular ticket for April 1 2019 Manila to Caticlan Boracay route sells for all-in-fare of P3,800.
Let’s compute for your total rebooking fee.
Rebooking fee: P1,200
Ticket price difference: P3800 – P550 = P3,250
Total rebooking fee: P1,200 + P3,250 = P4,450
Sobrang mahal and lugi ka if this is really the case!
So what do we suggest here in PisoFare.ph?
PisoFare.PH recommend that instead of re-booking, what you should do is wait for a new promo that includes April 1, 2018 in the travel period, so you can buy a NEW ticket.
Just forget about the first ticket you bought to Boracay, no hard feelings, kalimutan mo na. Who knows, you will chance upon a new piso fare promo for all domestic destinations by Cebu Pacific, then you will just pay less than a thousand instead of more than P4,000.
But say, if you think the total cost of rebooking is more or less the same as what you will pay for a new ticket for your chosen travel date, then go ahead, rebook. What is important is you compute first the alternative option, so you can evaluate the situation better and be able to decide wiser too. Baka sakali maka-save ka pa. Alrighty? 😀
If it is Cebu Pacific Airline itself which cancels your flight or postpone it to a later flight that will leave at least an hour later from your original flight time, then you can rebook your ticket WITHOUT ANY CHARGES, you can also put it into a travel fund, or you can accept the offered new flight.
In this situation, the flight change is initiated by the airline, therefore passengers are not penalized. To make changes to your booking under this case, you need to call the hotline of Cebu Pacific.
