The New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC), NAIA’s new operator has suggested new airline assignments for domestic and international flights and airline companies. They will take over the airport’s oerations starting September 14, 2024.
General Manager Angelito Alvarez announced that Terminal 1 will be exclusive to Philippine Airlines (PAL).
Terminal 2 will serve domestic flights for PAL and Cebu Pacific Air.
Terminal 3 will accommodate all international carriers such as from Cebu Pacific, Air Asia and other international airlines.
Terminal 4 will be mostly for AirAsia domestic flights.
However, these changes won’t be immediate and no specific dates are given for these reshuffled airline assignments to take place.
“There is really congestion at the airport. If we maintain the status quo, you can just imagine the impact on the passenger experience. We need to do something while the Terminal 2 expansion is still to be built,” he added.
